SEEK DAILY (NBC)DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY BAPTIST OCTOBER 2021 (DELIVERED AND RECONCILED)
TOPIC: DELIVERED AND RECONCILED
Bible Text: Ephesians 2:11-22
“…His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two; thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross by which he put to death their hostility.” Ephesians 2:15b-16, NIV
MESSAGE
Ambrose, a high school boy became wayward, stole some amount of money and ran from home. On his wandering spree, he was attacked by armed robbers and subsequently arrested with the robbers. On interrogation, it was discovered that he was a victim of circumstance, a police officer who is a Christian witnessed Christ to him. He became born again and was reconciled to his parents.
Paul wrote to the Ephesian church reminding them that they were once Gentiles and enemies of God. By nature, they were separated from God but through the blood of Jesus, both Jews and Gentiles were delivered from the power of sin and granted an unhindered access to God. They were no longer foreigners and strangers but heirs together with Christ.
Sin is poisonous, and it has its end in death. Jesus came to reconcile man to God and has given us a ministry of reconciliation to reconcile the world to Him. We, after being delivered from the power of sin must endeavour to bring others around us to Christ. Have you been delivered from the power of sin, self, Satan and the world? Come to Jesus today, and you will be delivered!
Insight: “Real faith rejoices in the promise of God as if it saw the deliverance and was enjoying it” – F.F. Bosworth.
Prayer: Lord, keep my lamp burning and turn my darkness into light-Psalm 18:2.
