TOPIC: DON’T GIVE UP!
Read James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
MEMORISE: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)
EXPOSITION
Are you facing any challenge that puts your heart too distant from your dream? Do you feel like quitting, think trying aga in isn’t worth it? Don’t give up! It is most dangerous to permit the challenges around you to distract you from God. Most times, we permit challenges to prevent us from carrying out the ministry God has trusted us with instead of using the challenges as stepping stones for higher spiritual accomplishment. People with faith in faith do not experience shame (Ps. 37:5).
God’s Word is perfect for all situations. The Psalms that have become blessings to us today are a product of deep reflection on the challenging situations the psalmists encountered. So, seek God’s help to maximise your challenge, rightly, and convert it to blessing for your generation. Convert all threats to opportunities.
Apostle Paul faced several of false accusations coupled with frustrations. He was imprisoned, among other serious challenges he faced for the Gospel’s sake (2 Cor. 11:22ff). In fact, he wrote some of his letters in the prison, i.e. he maximised his challenge and that brought blessings to the church. What are you passing through? Please don’t give up.
There is grace for you to gloriously end what you started. That you are not immediately getting the results you want shouldn’t truncate your future abruptly. You might need to ‘stretch’ yourself a little more; just like a rubber band, which its usefulness remains latent until it is stretched. Let your challenges make you what you are destined to be, and not what they think or dictate. What some call problems only create the bridges to navigate for growth. The saddest summary of life contains 3 descriptions: could have, might have, and should have. Pick it up from where you have stopped. If you need to, apply a new method. Seek the face of God and take counsel from godly people. See you at the top.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, help me to keep my eyes on You always.
2. Commit that situation threatening your faith in Christ to doubt His efficacy into the hands of the Lord, to take care of it.
3. Pray for families waiting on God for the fruits of the womb that they won’t be discouraged regarding waiting on Him till they get their godly desires.
