Bible Text: 2 Samuel 6:1-5
TOPIC: DAVID PREPARES TO TRANPORT THE ARK
“Again David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand” 2 Samuel 6:1, KJV
A little girl once asked her mother why Sunday wears used to be different and special, the mother simply answered that it is important to prepare well to meet with Jesus who is very special. Today’s passage is an account of David’s preparation to transport the ark of the Lord from Judah.
David sent word to all the people of Israel telling them his intention of bringing back the ark of the Lord, he made all necessary preparations and carried everyone along. Being a lover of music and composer, he gathered to himself choristers and instrumentalists; they sang and played melodies with all their might before God.
We need to prepare well ahead of things that might come our way. Just like David, learn to involve people in your plans because no one is an island of knowledge.
The interesting part is that David used what he knew how to do best to stir up the Spirit of the Lord which means he gave God his best. Always be ready to give God your best in every situation. Do not hold back your skills and talents when it is needed. You can be sure that the Lord will not forget your labour of love.
Insight: How do you prepare daily to meet with the Lord?
Prayer: God, prepare me to meet with You in holiness always.
