Topic: FROM DEATH TO LIFE IN CHRIST
Text: 1 Corinthians 15:16-23
“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive” 1 Corinthian 15:22, NIV
The common hymn “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound…” was written in 1773 by John Newton; an Anglican priest to narrate his experience as a slave trader about a decade earlier. He was saved from a near-death experience when the slave ship encountered a violent storm prompting him to accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour.
The song speaks of his desire for an experience of freedom from the wretchedness of sins and a day to be with God in eternity.
Anyone that is yet to acknowledge Christ is still living in the peril of eternal condemnation. The danger of living without Christ is far greater than any pleasure you may think you are enjoying without Him today.
This is a passionate appeal that you accept Christ so that you can pass from death to life. Salvation through Christ is the only access to eternal life, “…that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16). You can never experience true peace and perfect freedom without Christ. You too can pass from physical and spiritual death to physical and eternal life by simply embracing the finished works of Christ.
Insight: If you desire true freedom and life eternal, surrender your life to Christ today.
Prayer: Lord, be my anchor in the midst of this world’s turbulent storm(s).
