TOPIC: SALVATION IS FOR ALL PEOPLE
Bible Text: Romans 10:5-17
“For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’” – Romans 10:13, NIV
MESSAGE
The General Baptist and Particular Baptist were two divisions of Baptist faith when it began in the 17th century. The General Baptist believed that salvation is for all mankind while the Particular Baptist believed that salvation is only for the elect. The Particular Baptist, hold that there are some people destined for hell while the few destined for salvation are the candidates for heaven.
The view of the Particular Baptist is similar to that of the Israelites who believed that salvation is only for the Israelites. They believed they can attain righteousness by obeying the Mosaic Law. Every other person that wanted to be saved then, must abide by the Mosaic Law as set by the Jewish Christians. Paul wrote to the Romans to correct this notion. The Bible makes it clear that anyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved.
As Christians, we must not discriminate. We should not see others that are not yet Christians as people destined for hell. We must do our best to bring them all to Christ through. Salvation is free and is for all. Tell someone about Christ today.
Insight: Christ died for all, so that all can come to Christ.
Prayer: Lord, let Your salvation reach all men wherever they are.
