Topic: NAOMI’S SORROW TURNS TO JOY
Bible Text: Ruth 4:3-6, 13-15
“He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.” Ruth 4:15, NIV
We live in troubled times. People lose their jobs, loved ones, and faith in God.
The educational system is getting more damaged, due to lack of necessary incentives and infrastructures. Public universities are also heading the same direction. Too many of those who went to school are without job. The roads in the country are mostly in terrible states and the political life and electoral processes of the nation are not encouraging.
In the face of all these, many wonder if good times can ever come again.
The situation of Naomi after the death of her husband and her two sons was hopeless, yet her closest guardian-redeemer was only interested in property acquisition. He would not accept Naomi as his responsibility because of his estate.
But, God intervened through Boaz who was interested in providing support for Naomi than in expanding his estate. Through him, Naomi became a happy grand-mother and everyone rejoiced with her.
Are things currently tough and difficult for you? If you are estranged from God, return to Him and hope in Him. Naomi returned and her sorrow was turned to joy. Your own time of rejoicing and celebration will come again as you return to God today.
Insight: God specializes in giving hope and joy to the hopeless.
Prayer: LORD, please order my steps to where I can enjoy Your goodness.
