TOPIC: THE CROWD’S HUNGER SATISFIED
Bible Text: Matthew 14:13-21
“They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.” Matthew 14:20, NIV
One of the major reasons there is so much lack in the world is that most people are selfish, and afraid of losing their wealth. Nonetheless, giving according to God’s Word leads to abundant provision.
After Jesus had healed the sick and taught those who followed Him to a solitary place, the disciples wanted Him to send them away to eat because it was getting dark and there was no food. To them, there was no way provision could be made for such a huge crowd – over 5000 people– in such a place. _*Jesus, the compassionate Redeemer would not let the people go back hungry*._ He requested for what was available (five loaves of bread and two pieces of fish). His prayer of thanksgiving multiplied the bread and fish; there was adequate provision for all and even left over.
No matter how little our talents, resources, opportunities or money may be, if they are released to Jesus to use as He pleases, our needs and that of others would be met. Will you exercise faith by offering for Christ glory that which appears to be just sufficient or insufficient for you? You will see how your needs and many other needs will be completely met.
Insight: Give what you have to the LORD generously and enjoy His wonders!
Prayer: LORD, please give me enough faith not to withhold anything from You.
