TOPIC : GODLESSNESS IN THE LAST DAYS
Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, I request that you help me to encounter you as I meditate on your word.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:1‐9
Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any command for me to obey?
• What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
MESSAGE
Paul’s reference to the “last days” reveals his sense of urgency. The last days began after Jesus’ resurrection when the Holy Spirit came upon the believers at Pentecost. The last days will continue until Christ’s return. What does this mean to you? Make the most of the time that God has given us (Ephesians 5:16, Colossians 4:5). Paul gives a descriptive list of behaviours in the last days. Identify them (vs.2‐7).
Check your life against this list. Do not settle for comfort without commitment. Stand up against evil by living as God would have His people live. The “form” or appearance of godliness includes going to church, knowing Christian doctrine, using Christian clich?s, etc and yet denying its power. Jannes and Jambres were Egyptian magicians who counterfeited Moses’ miracles (Exodus 7:11‐12) and Moses defeated them. Likewise, false teachers will be defeated.
Practice/Word Application
