Joni Erickson Tada in 1967, suffered an injury which left her quadriplegic (a type of stroke) ever since. In spite of her challenges, she became a world-renowned painter, author of over 50 books; speaker and CEO of Joni & friends. She lives in constant pain, however, she is an inspiration, help and encouragement to others.
The disciples were curious about why the man in today’s passage was born blind. They were eager to know if it was the man’s sin or that of the parents that resulted in his blindness from birth. However, Jesus answered them that neither his sin nor of his parents was responsible, but that the work of God might be displayed. So many times, the challenges of our lives might not be related to our sins or that of our parents. God permits certain things to happen for His name to be glorified in our lives.
Irrespective of your challenges, do not give in to self-pity but trust God for a total turn around, at the end, He can use the challenges for your lifting and to the glorification of His name.
Insight: The reason for your challenge is to glorify God. Don’t give up.
Prayer: O Lord, give me the grace to bear my challenges till my miracle comes.
RBT Passage: Joshua 11-13
