BLISSFULL MARRAIGE DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR FEBRUARY 1, 2022 (OBEY YOUR PARENTS)
TOPIC: OBEY YOUR PARENTS
To obey is to do as ordered by a person, or to act as one is bidded.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right” Ephesians 6:1
Obedience is expected of children to their parents because it is right and the Bible commands it.
Parents are earthly guide appointed by God to take care of children and lead them in the right path. One major way to repay them for the important roles they play is to obey them.
As children, you’re to obey your parents according to the instructions they receive from God concerning your life. These involves doing what is right as they instruct and teach you, without complaining or holding grudges against them as obedience with grudges is not complete.
The command to wholeheartedly obey parents is God’s first command with a promise.
If your parents fell short in their responsibilities when you needed them most, it doesn’t change God’s command about how you should honour and obey them, strive to show them love. Disobeying them is tantamount to disobeying God.
Are you an obedient child?
Meditation:
Obedience and honor to parents will lead to long life as promised by God.
Prayer:
Lord, give me the grace to obey my parents wholeheartedly in Jesus name.
Confession:
I shall henceforth obey my parents.
